Contact UsThe Comfort of Home™ caregiving training series is a trademark of CareTrust Publications, an independent multi-language publisher committed to providing high quality, user-friendly information to those who face their own aging or the responsibilities of caring for family, friends, or clients.

Maria MeyerCareTrust provides assistance to caregivers and organizations through our caregiver training guides, caregiver journal, caregiver videos, caregiver newsletters, and caregiver instructor training materials. These caregiver resources are written to eighth grade level – easy to read, illustrated, with tips and notes, and peppered with humor.  These award winning materials have proved cost effective and time saving for a variety of organizations serving and training both family and para-professional caregivers: nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, government agencies, pharmaceutical companies, HMOs, senior care facilities, home care agencies, and individual family caregivers.

We have been specializing in caregiving publications since 1989, publishing the award-winning guide, The Comfort of Home™: An Illustrated Step-by-Step Guide for Caregivers. It provides comprehensive caregiver training and support with information on activities of daily living care, home modifications, paying for care, preventing caregiver burnout issues—and more. The book is easy-to-read and contains many useful illustrations as well as special notes and tips that alert both patients and caregivers to important issues that make life easier for all concerned. View sample pages online or buy a copy from Amazon. Our caregiver newsletters are available in English, Spanish, Russian, Cantonese and French—or any language you need. We are especially pleased to offer the only comprehensive Spanish-language caregiver training guide for home care. Due to its success and broad acceptance as a valuable standard for caregivers, we are now publishing disease-specific versions of the guide. These special editions will deal with the day-to-day issues confronted by caregivers taking care of individuals with specific conditions such as multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson disease, and Alzheimer’s disease. Each contains sections explaining the disease, its effects, and special care needs. With these complete guides in hand, caregivers will understand the disease they are confronting, overcome their fears, learn how to cope, and identify when help is needed and where to find it.

We offer conference workshops through speaking engagements. For more information on our services, please contact us.

Caregiving
Since over one in four Americans provide care to family and friends, caregiving in the home is the fastest-growing unpaid profession in America. More and more, the burden of caring for the frail parent or relative falls on a family member, most often women. Without training, and often with little time to spare, family members must learn the caregiver’s job, find health care financing, retrofit the home for a disabled person, and become both nurse and counselor. Maria’s address focuses on empowering caregivers to recognize their value, take care of themselves, and be counted.
